…In other news, Iron Bard Ballisto is receiving some really lovely reponses at Zuda. A few people said it reminds them of 90’s alternative comics.
I really love that, as in the 90s the thrill of discovering titles like Flaming Carrot, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Boris the Bear, Cerebus the Aardvark, Normalman, Usagi Yojimbo and countless short-lived, experimental titles were what inflamed and fuelled my passion for comics. These books were not quite underground, but not mainstream either. The art was unpolished but lovingly detailed and often totally unique. I loved the comics from that era, and I no idea my own stuff carried any of that influence with it!
