This was the centrepiece for my last solo exhibition – a 3D viewer with a bunch of stereo slides to go with it. Good at crossing your eyes? Then let’s ‘ave a look.
You look through the lenses at the front, at the slide mounted on the back. The focus can be adjusted by sliding the mount back and forth with a tab under the viewer.
Look at the lovely birdy facade.

There are characters on the four corners of the viewer.
Now to show you what the slides all look like in 3D. If you are not familiar with the Cross Eyed Viewing method, here’s some instructions from a website:
(2) Cross eyed viewing. Hold your finger exactly halfway between your eyes and the page. Focus on your finger. Your eyes will be converged on the finger also, and you should be conscious of the two pictures out of focus behind your finger, but probably nearly coincident. Move your finger a bit until the two pictures are fully coincident. Now hold that convergence while refocusing from your finger to the page. Finally, you can remove your finger from the field of view.
Yeah, so you pretty much cross your eyes til the images overlap and BAM! Click the pix below to enlarge.
